Note: Watch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps that compliment this video.
1. Click the Inset Tab to Open the Slide Field
Adding a slide number can be done with just a couple of quick clicks to your entire presentation. Let’s insert a slide number by clicking on the Insert tab on the PowerPoint ribbon, and find this # icon just next to Word Art.
2. Apply PowerPoint’s Slide Number Box to All Pages
I’m going to take the Slide Number bobox on this window, and then press Apply to All to add a slide number to each of the slides in PowerPoint. Or, you could also press Apply to just add the slide number to a selected slide.
3. PowerPoint Will Automatically Numbers Your Pages
You can see the slide number here in the lower right corner of each slide, now, Powerpoint automatically numbers off each of the slides sequentially, so no need to update this setting for each slide.
One more tip, if you wanna remove the slide number from a selected slide, you could always click on the box where the slide number is placed, and press the Page numbering applied to PowerPoint key on your keyboard. This removes the slide number from a selected slide.
